Simone Barefield






Ms. Barefield is a resident of Plant City and owner and President of Gans, Gans & Associates, a 20-year-old human resources consulting and executive search company. She holds a certificate of Management Development from the Kellogg Graduate School of Northwestern University, which she received in 1986.  She is the Chairwoman for the Tampa Bay workforce Alliance and a member of the Board of Directors of the Plant City Boys and Girls Club, Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Plant City Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club and Athena Society.

 

John Hashagen







Mr. Hashagen, of Sarasota, retired as the Chief Executive Officer of SunTrust Bank, Miami in August 2002. He began his career with SunTrust Bank as Senior Vice President of SunTrust Bank, Tampa Bay in 1986. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia in 1971 and his Masters in Business Administration from St. Johns University in 1977.

Gene Marshall







Mr. Marshall from Palm Harbor, FL retired in 2004 from his position as Senior Vice President of Credit Card Operations for Chase Manhattan Bank where he had been employed since 1969.  He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1977 from The City University of New York, Bernard M. Baruch College and a Masters in Business Administration degree in 1989 from New York University.

Dr. Kiran Patel






Dr. Patel is the Chairman of the Patel Foundation for Global Understanding, a non-profit organization developing and funding health, education, artistic and cultural programs.  In 2005, Dr. Patel was the winner of the Ernest & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Southeast U.S. and was honored with the “Glory of Gujarat” Award from the Governor of his home state in India in 2006.  Dr. Patel received his medical degree from Gujarat University in 1973 and completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Columbia University affiliated program in 1982.

 

Paresh Patel






 Mr. Patel is a resident of Clearwater and actively manages a portfolio of private investments.  He received a Bachelors and Masters Degree from Cambridge University in 1984.

Gregory Politis







Mr. Politis has developed and retained ownership of retail centers and commercial office space with the primary focus of buildings for federal and state government agencies.  A past recipient of the Building Owners and Managers Association Building of the Year Award, Mr. Politis is also a founding member of the Hellenic American Board of Entrepreneurs. He has served as a Director of Florida Bank and is actively involved in developments throughout the Montreal, Miami-Dade, Orlando and Tampa Bay areas.

Frank Sanchez




 

Mr. Sanchez a resident of Tampa is former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Transportation, a community and business leader and a partner in CM Partners, an international business-consulting firm. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982 and Juris Doctor Degree in 1986 from Florida State University and a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University in 1993.

Pablo Santa Cruz







Mr. Santa Cruz is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Topview International, Inc., an investment and business management company, and is the Chairman of Grupo Santa Cruz, a private charitable foundation. Mr. Santa Cruz has successfully built and managed ventures in the Information Systems, Healthcare, Specialty Distribution, International Logistics, and Communications industries.

Marty Traber







Mr. Traber, has been an equity partner of Foley & Lardner LLP in Tampa since 1994, representing clients in securities and corporate law.   Mr. Traber received his bachelor’s degree in 1967 and law degree in 1970 from Indiana University.  He currently serves as a Director of Powerlinx Corporation, which engages in the development, licensing, manufacture and marketing of products and applications to transmit voice, video, audio and data and is traded on the OTC:BB under the symbol PWNX.OB.

John H. Sykes






Mr. John H. Sykes is founder and chairman emeritus of Sykes Enterprises, Incorporated, a company he started in 1977 with three employees and grew into a global leader in the business process outsourcing arena.  The company provides contract management services to Fortune 1000 and leading global companies and today has more than 26,000 employees in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia/Pacific, South Africa and Latin America.
 
Mr. Sykes has been recognized with numerous local and national awards for his business acumen, including the Florida Free Enterpriser of the Year award given by Governor Jeb Bush in 2005.  Also, in 2005, he was inducted into the Sales & Marketing Executive Institute Hall of Fame for his lifetime contributions to the free enterprise system through personal and corporate success in sales and marketing.
 
Mr. Sykes has made numerous contributions of both time and financial support to many organizations in the southeast United States.  He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Queens University of Charlotte and is a Director of the Hyde Park Capital Advisory Board.  Mr. Sykes has a Doctor of Business Administration degree from the University of Tampa as well as three Honorary Doctor degrees in Humane Letters from the University of Tampa, Queens University of Charlotte and Pikeville College in Kentucky.

 Monty Weigel

 

 

Mr. Weigel brings over 30 years of banking experience to NorthStar. He is recognized as an innovative expert in commercial, small business, commercial real estate and installment loans, retail and private banking, residential lending and corporate banking services.

He led the formation and subsequent sale of the controlling interest in the bank holding company now known as Florida Capital Group, Inc. and Florida Capital Bank based in Jacksonville, Florida.

Prior to his service at Florida Capital Bank, Mr. Weigel was President of SunTrust Bank, Northwest Florida from August 1997 until January 2002 and Senior Vice President, SunTrust Bank, Miami from May 1982 until August 1997.

Mr. Weigel has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from University of South Florida and received the Price-Waterhouse/South Florida Business Journal “Up and Comer” of the Year in 1988 for Miami-Dade County. Mr. Weigel is active in the community and has served as Director and Chairman of the Board of various groups including Chambers of Commerce, United Way, Secondary Schools, Universities and Colleges, health care foundations and other charities.
