As a Tampa Bay owned and managed community bank, it goes without saying that we believe in making a real difference in our community through our ongoing support of civic leaders, charitable organizations and community events.

Supporting community leaders and businesses

  • “When a bank lifts the community up, it lifts each of us up.”

Jim Cantonis joined the board of directors for NorthStar Bank because he saw its exceptional involvement in community service throughout Tampa Bay. There was something he found very empowering about a local bank that cares as much about its community and clients as it does its own assets.

  • “You can’t have a successful business without very personal business relationships.”

As founder of The Woman’s Group, Dr. Madelyn Butler knows first hand how being responsive to patient needs and maintaining strong personal relationships equates to dramatic business success. So when she and her partners went looking for a bank, they chose NorthStar Bank, where they enjoy proactive solutions, highly responsive service, and close personal business relationships that are focused on the practice’s continued success.

  • “Any bank can say they care about small businesses. I want a bank who really means it.”

When Leisha Griffin and her partners founded Vykin Corporation in 2008, they already had a solid client base in the defense industry. But where many big banks turned them away, the NorthStar Bank team got to know their business, got to know them personally, and provided a line of credit to help Vykin win even bigger contracts.

  • “One call and I can meet with senior leadership in 15 minutes. That’s what I call a commercial banking relationship.”

Greg Hearing and his partners may not be the biggest clients at NorthStar Bank, but they’re always treated like they are. Which is one big reason why their management labor and employment law firm opted for a trusted partnership with our community bank, rather than the impersonal anonymity served up by most regional and national banks.

Supporting community events and organizations

Dedication to community involvement isn’t merely a pastime – it’s a passion for many of our employees who live in the same communities we do business in. NorthStar Bank supports local events and charitable organizations financially and through the time and expertise of the bank’s board, management team and employees. All our staff are encouraged to be active in their community. Activities aligned with the bank’s objectives may be supported through reimbursement of dues and other expenses, donations and support of various events.
